"This is mainly a collection of images from my first visit to Amsterdam in 1997, while on a short solo tour. Simply about a visitor who slowly begins to feel at home. The line ‘postcards & perfume’ comes from brushing past people and tourist shops on a busy street. I've been there several times since the initial visit, but it has always been late fall, cold and damp, and this recording tries to capture that as well”

This morning in Amsterdam
Postcards and perfume
Bridges over waterways
And the stranger it consumes

This morning in Amsterdam
The shadows and the light
With one eye on the golden age
One faded into night

But it's almost home
It's almost home

Stepping in another world
Nodding at the past
Where watchmen gaze and look away
As if the die was cast

And it's almost home
It's almost home

Any other song leaves me wanting
Been away so long, now it's haunting
Always taunting

This morning in Amsterdam
Postcards and perfume
Bridges over waterways
And the stranger it consumes

It's almost home
It's almost home
And it's almost home
It's almost home

This morning in Amsterdam
Postcards and perfume

As we wind our way... Away
