“Though I’m not religious in the literal sense of the word, my lyrics sometimes touch religious themes. Or maybe it’s the other way around – I’m being touched by religious themes and they worm their way into my songs. I do consider myself a religious person, or a spiritual person if you like. I ain’t got time for no bullshit, I’m past that. Having said that,
I’d like to live my life with my eyes wide open.
I ain’t got time for miracles.”

Follow these footprints, the road is long
The flesh is weak, the mind is strong
Do not go gentle on this good night
Let’s live some more before we die

But I’m not superstitious, perhaps I should be
Life’s sometimes malicious and kinda greedy
With a thousand stitches and bruises
I ain’t got time for miracles

Dear God forgive me, I don’t believe
What you predict I can’t conceive
All of this suffering, was that your work?
Your sense of humour’s quite absurd

I’m not superstitious, perhaps I should be
Life’s sometimes malicious and kinda greedy
With a thousand stitches and bruises
I ain’t got time for miracles
